Eye Luminator LipSense more information
Yesterday I wrote about the Eye Luminator and LipSense by SeneGence. I came across some additional information that I find very interesing. This is taken from an email that I received directly from SeneGence, makers of LipSense long lasting lip color.
“The skin around the eyes is the skin that moves the most on your body - besides the skin around your lips. You constantly blink and squint - there’s constant movement.
If you were to look at a cross-section of skin you would see layers. You have a top layer of skin with several other layers below. Until you reach the sub part of the skin where all the cells are manufactured at the bottom. Here, the bottom layers slowly move up to the top and this continues in a constant cycle. The cycle is normally (depending upon age), a twenty day cycle or it may be a twenty-eight day cycle. Because the skin is always moving, and because the top layer moves at a faster rate than the bottom layer, you get more of a sheering-type action occurring at the top. Therefore, you want to try to get lubricity down into each one of these layers of skin because if the cells are lubricated, they can move more easily. It’s likened to having a machine you keep adding oil to so it won’t wear out - it eases the motion and stress. The same thing happens to the layers of skin under your eyes. In order to get oil or lubricant into one layer, it has to be different from this other layer. In order for a molecule of an ingredient to get down into this lower layer, its size has to be relatively small. For example; If you have a two inch hole and we try to fit a three inch marker into it, it won’t work. But if you put an inch and one-half marker into the two inch whole, it will work. That’s basically what you see if you look down through your skin - little windows of cells. So, in order to really work, products should have an array of lubricants of varying sized molecules to get in through all the different windows of cells of the different layers.
