Skin Care steps applying LipSense

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Many customers have asked when it is the right time to apply their LipSense long lasting lip color. To keep it simple, there are three steps to good skin care: Cleanse, Moisturize and Protect.

Keeping your skin clean is the first step to beautiful skin. It is important to cleanse twice a day. Exfoliants or refiners are meant to be used after makeup has been removed, and their function is to remove the most superficial layers from the skin, leaving a smoother, fresher surface underneath while preparing the skin to receive the next step. The purpose of a toner is to remove the last traces of a cleanser, natural oils, and grease from sebaceous and hair follicle pores. Quality toners will restore the skin’s natural pH balance, enabling the skin’s natural defense system to help protect it from environmental toxins and bacteria.

Next you want to moisturize. The key is to use products that maintain the moisture of the skin and promote healthy skin from the lower levels of the skin and that produces healthy cells to replace existing skin cells.

Last, you need to protect your skin. With SeneGence products, you can protect your skin with foundation that not only covers skin imperfections but also keeps the sun out. Using the SeneGence moisturizer and foundation you achieve a 30 SPF. This means that you don’t have to use a chemical SPF product. Thus your skin care regiment is simplified. The foundation is also water proof so you can wear it in the pool, at the gym and it won’t sweat off.

After you apply the foundation, you will want to apply the LipSense long lasting lip color. Remember 3 coats of LipSense is best. And, as we discussed, moisture is important for the lips too. The LipSense moisturizing gloss should be applied throughout the day.

Youthful skin combining LipSense lip color

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

In the last blog, we talked about the botanicals in the SeneGence skin care solution.  While LipSense long lasting lip color satisfies your outward appearance by adding color to your face, having great skin can go a long way at improving your appearance.

Let’s take a baby’s skin. Soft, smooth and very healthy. The word we are looking for is “new”. Babies are so lucky. They don’t have to deal with the stress of life. As we get older, our skin is touched by life: stress, joy, chemical or ecological damage, poor nutrition, and just the natural aging process.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could get back the skin we had when we were babies? Unfortunately that isn’t possible. However, we can minimize the effects of aging by using products that will help our skin. Much of what happens with age is a slow down of the processes. While we slow down, the effects increase. This happens throughout the body, not just the skin.

Having anti aging skin care products that will increase the process of skin regeneration is the key to achieving excellent looking skin. SeneGence has developed several products that will assist in this area.

We know that LipSense long lasting lip color is a product that really works. As with LipSense, SeneGence has developed an entire product set that is targeted to reduce the signs of aging.

In the next blog we will discuss in detail your skin care regiment and what you will want to do.

LipSense effects contributing beautiful skin

Monday, January 25th, 2010

LipSense long lasting lip color is great for the lips, but what about the rest of your face?  As we embrace new technology in skin care and anti aging, it is important to have the right tools in your tool box.  We all want to look our best.  The long lasting power of LipSense, a product that really works, combined with an excellent skin care regiment will help you achieve the results you really want.

Today, modern scientists are once again turning to nature’s gifts and today’s botanicals to be used individually or in combinations with each other to create a harmonious effect. The SeneDerm formula by SeneGence International incorporates many beneficial botanicals and blends them with powerful antioxidants and essential vitamins to create a product line that can truly revitalize the skin. Isn’t that what we’re looking for: renewed and revitalized skin so reminiscent of our early, vital baby skin! For we start aging from the moment we’re born, but the aging process, up until the middle to late 20s, only seems to improve our beauty… and with so little help from us. By the mid to late 20s, we have begun to see the skin in motion: the first hints of the way our face will age. The eyes start first. No particular preference shown here, it’s just that the skin, especially on the upper lids, is thinner than on any other part of the body and has fewer oil glands to keep it moist and young looking. Our first hints of aging usually start there.

Tomorrow we will discuss youthful skin.  Remember - Apply 3 coats of LipSense long lasting lip color and allow each coat to dry.  Then moisturize your lips with the LipSense gloss.

Getting more SeneSerum C product

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

SeneGence, makers of LipSense, came out with a new anti-aging skin care product last year called SeneSerum C.  I have tried many of the vitamin C products on the market but none of them produce the same results as this product by SeneGence.  As with all high concentrate facial products, the delivery system uses a dropper.  You load up the dropper and then only use 4 drops.  4 drops are sufficient to cover the face and neck.

Yesterday, I found I was running low in my container.  I actually had 2 containers where I couldn’t get the product out with the dropper.  I decided to open both containers and stack one on top of the other allowing the top container to drain into the bottom container.  I was shocked to see that the combination of the two containers gave me about a half of a container.

The saying “it ain’t over until it is over” is true!  Like the long lasing LipSense lip color, you can get more out of your SeneSerum C if you have a little patience.

Oh - let me tell you about the results I have had with SeneSerum C.  Everyone tells me I look at least 10 years younger than I am!  This is what SeneGence says about it: SeneSerum-C is a breakthrough in advanced anti-aging technology. The highly-concentrated formulation is made from oils similar to those naturally found in your skin and helps reduce moisture loss. Squalene (plant source) helps to deliver SenePlex Complex and patented stabilized Vitamin C necessary for collagen production, increasing elasticity and creating firmer, healthier, younger-looking skin.

Eye Luminator LipSense more information

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Yesterday I wrote about the Eye Luminator and LipSense by SeneGence.  I came across some additional information that I find very interesing.  This is taken from an email that I received directly from SeneGence, makers of LipSense long lasting lip color. (more…)

Using New EyeLuminator LipSense

Monday, August 4th, 2008

In April, SeneGence makers of LipSense long lasting lip color announced a new product called the EyeLuminator. EyeLuminator is a beautiful blend of EyeCreme and MakeSense Foundation Pearlizer that makes skin radiant and also acts as a concealer under the eyes.  This blog will discuss how to use the product in conjunction with LipSense long lasting lip color.

The main purpose of the product is to focus on the eyes. Here are the instructions from SeneGence: Apply SeneDerm EyeCreme in the evening before bed and SeneDerm EyeLuminator in the morning for long-lasting beauty and anti-aging skin care in one easy-to-use product.

Create a soft, EyeLuminating glow around the eyes. Here’s how:

Swipe a small amount of SeneDerm EyeLuminator onto the small, fanned SeneBrush. Apply to the under-eye area by placing brush onto skin beneath bottom lashes- just short of eyeliner. Apply with a soft, fanning motion moving EyeLuminator down into the blush area (the cheek area) and over to the hair line opposite of the outer eye.

The Results? A beautiful ivory-like angel glow in one simple step! (Makes for a great pick-me-up after a long day, too!)

I like to use it above the mouth before I apply LipSense to eliminate wrinkles. I apply it around my eyes in the morning, to reduce swelling and wrinkles and then I put it above my upper lip and follow it with LipSense long lasting lip color.

Extending Tan Tips Techniques

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Recently I received an email directly from SeneGence, makers of Lipsense entitled: A bronzing Makeover for Endless Summer Sun.  The tip talks about ways to use the SeneGence products to keep your tan looking good for a longer period of time.  This article will explain how to look tan and refreshed for a longer period - past the summer fun months…

SeneGence has several products that will help you keep that healthy suny kissed glow.  Here are a few of them:

  • Shea Butter body Bronzer - skin stays tanned approximately 5 to 7 days.
  • MakeSense Foundation - Choose summer tanned shade - Stays all day until removed
  • SeneDerm Translucid Loose Powder - “Dark” shade provides a matte tanned look. Stays all day until removed
  • SeneDerm Translucid Loose Powder Bronzers - Shades: Silver Rose Dew, Copper Mist and Bronze Dust - Stays all day until removed

I have used all of these and they all work as SeneGence advertises. The Loose Powder is a favorite. Especially the Bronzer powders. I apply the Medium powder over my foundation and then I use the Bronzer powder as a blush. It gives the face a sun kissed glow.

LipSense ingredients Vitamin C

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Customers are always asking what ingredients are in LipSense by SeneGence. Vitamin-C is not an ingredient in LipSense. However, SeneGence has a product that has Vitamin-C called SeneSerum-C. Many of the products on the market that say they have Vitamin-C don’t work very well because Vitamin-C won’t retain the valuable properties unless it is suspended by another compound.

OK - enough of the chemistry lesson. I never did very good at chemistry so I’ll try to explain it. If you take an orange and cut it open and right away rub it on your skin you are getting the maximum Vitamin-C. If you wait an hour to rub it on your skin, you get less benefit. For each hour you wait, the benefit diminishes. That being said, chemists have been trying to find a way to retain the value of Vitamin-C and SeneGence has done it with their SeneSerum-C product.

So what do you do with SeneSerum-C? I can’t really tell you what to do but I didn’t wait a minute before I started slathering it on my face and neck. Then today I received an email that you can put it on your lips - I hadn’t thought of that. I started putting it on my lips today and they sure feel good.

I guess what I am saying is that Vitamin-C is great for your skin. I plan to use the SeneSerum-C on my lips at night and then apply my LipSense in the morning. I expect that I will love the results because SeneGence hasn’t ever let me down in the past with their amazing products.

Moisturizing LipSense Gloss Benefits

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Customers frequently ask about the fantastic gloss that goes with the LipSense. Here are the ingredients: Dimethicone, Beeswax, Tocopherol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Tocopherol, Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Octoxynol-40, Isolaureth-6, Propylene Glycol, Propylparaben. May Contain: Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Galactoarabinan, Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510).

I just love technical terms. The best ingredient is the Shea Butter. If you wear LipSense with a different gloss the LipSense won’t stay on as long. I tried it once with a gloss I purchased at the drug store and my LipSense was off in about 1 hour. The Shea Butter gloss that SeneGence provides to go with the LipSense really does the trick. Not only does it keep the LipSense on longer but if you use it every day, you will never have dry lips.

So as I always say to my new LipSense customers “don’t forget the gloss”. We have the entire line of LipSense and SeneGence products at beautiful-lips.com

More information about Body Bronzer

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Last week I talked about the Shea Butter Body Bronzer. Today I will elaborate based on more information I received from SeneGence. Here are some FAQs.

How doesSeneDerm® Shea Butter Body Bronzer with SenePlex work?

SeneDerm Shea Butter Body Bronzer contains Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the most effective self tanning products contain Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient. The tan is a chemical reaction between the DHA and the amino acids and proteins in the outer layer on the skin surface. It is not a dye, stain or paint. The reaction is non-toxic and skin safe, without the damage associated with UV exposure. The tan is temporary and will fade gradually over 3 to 10 days.

Some people may be sensitive or allergic to the ingredients found in SeneDerm Shea Butter Body Bronzer. Before covering your entire body, test it out first by dabbing it on a small section of skin. If you notice an uncomfortable reaction, discontinue use at once.

Do I need to apply a sunscreen?
The most important thing to remember about self tanning is that SeneDerm Shea Butter Body Bronzer does not protect your skin against the sun. When using the Body Bronzer, slather yourself with the same amount of sunscreen you would use if you were as pale as a ghost.

If I swim in a chlorinated pool, will my sunless tan fade?
Long exposure to water, with or without chlorine, will fade your sunless tan. Your outer skin cells will start to soak up water, and that dilutes the tanning effect. The longer you are in the water, the more your skin will fade. Using your SeneDerm Shea Butter Body Bronzer regularly over a period of time will saturate the skin better and your sunless tan will hold up longer in water, but it will still be affected. It is reported that applying a waterproof sunscreen before you get in the water prevents the sunless tan from fading as quickly.

Can I hide my scars by self tanning?
Scars are a bit unpredic table. Mostly, they darken very little or not at all. The more recent the scar, the less Body Bronzer it will absorb. Please note that stretch marks are scars! Stretch marks that are a few years old will be disguised by sunless tanners; new ones will not absorb the lotion and may look more prominent (if this gets you down, keep in mind that stretch marks and scars don’t tan in the sun, either — and the sun will impair healing). Your freckles and moles will also darken along with the rest of your skin. In fact, some colorless moles may become significantly darker. This is a sad fact of sunless tanning.

If you’re pregnant or nursing, experts recommend checking with your physician before applying. According to the American Pregnancy Association, DHA is considered safe for pregnant women. However, their editors also say, “The only concern is whether the active ingredient, Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is able to penetrate the skin. Studies do not confirm that it can, but some health care providers encourage women to wait until after the first trimester, just to play it safe.”

Can men use SeneDerm Shea Butter Body Bronzer with SenePlex?
No. Men should never do anything to improve their appearance. They should avoid shaving, getting haircuts, buying stylish clothing, working out, and brushing their teeth. Otherwise, dating and marriage could result (Of course men can use SeneDerm® Shea Butter Body Bronzer it is not gender specific!) hee hee!
